Programme Duration: All ND programmes runs for 18 months.
Industrial Attachment: Industrial Attachment is compulsory in all ND programmes.
GMA runs a professional programme for individuals, corperate Organizations, Shipping
Companies, Maritime Administrators, Government Agencies, Undergraduates, Graduates,
Manufacturers, Bankers and Businessmen.
This programme could be tailored to meet the needs of the
individual or the organization, and it is designed into five stages as follows:
- Foundation Course (Stage 1)
Shipper's Foundation Certificate Course.
This is a preparatory/remedial course for those with deficiency in entry qualification for the Intermidate
Professional Shipper's Course.
Objective
On completion of the course, the student will have a basic understanding of what
the Maritime Industry is all about.
Duration: 3 Days
Award: Shipper Foundation Certificate (AFC)
- Intermediate Course (Stage 2)
Intermidate Professional Shipper's Course.This programme is designed to produce middle manpower, who should be able to carry out basic functions in
the management of the Maritime Industry.
Objective
On completion of the programme, the participant should be able to:
- Carry out all basic functions in a shipping company.
- Serve as a Clearing and Forwarding Agent.
- Understand and interpret all Shipping Policies.
- Undertake and render quality services in Shipping.
- Participate in various activities in the Maritime Industry.
Duration: 2 days
Award: Intermidate Professional Shipper (IPS)
- Senior Officers Course (Stage 3)
Associate Professional Shipper's Course. This programme is designed to produce Supervisors/Foremen, who will be able to apply shipping principles to
the day-to-day operation of the Shipping/Maritime Industry.
Objective
On completion of the programme, the participant should be able to:
- Undertake supervisory role in the Shipping / Maritime Industry.
- Collate, interpret, coordinate and report shipping information and data in a meaningful way to the Manager.
- Supervise routine work in the ports with processing machines and ancillary equipment.
Duration: 3 Days
Award: Associate Professional Shipper(APS)
- Middle Management Course (Stage 4)
Certified Professional Shipper's Course. This programme is designed to produce Managers, who will be able to apply shipping principles to
the day-to-day operation of the Shipping/Maritime Industry.
Objective
On completion of the programme, the participant should be able to:
- Undertake managerial role in the Shipping / Maritime Industry.
- Report shipping information to Management.
- Undertake direct or supportive role in problem solving operations in the Shipping/Maritime Industry.
Duration: 3 Days
Award: Certified Professional Shipper (CPS)
- Top Management Course (Stage 5)
Registered Professional Shipper's Course. This programme is designed for Managment
Staff/Chief Executives in the Shipping and Maritime Industry.
Objective
On completion of the programme, the paticipant should be able to effectively manage
and solve operational problems in the Maritime Industry.

Award:Registered Professional Shipper (RPS)
Certification Programme (Short Course)
These courses are designed for Individuals, Cooperate Organizations, Shipping
Companies, Maritime Administrators, Government Agencies, Undergraduates,
Graduates, Manufacturers, Bankers and Businessmen.
Objective
On completion of the programme, the participant should be able to undertake direct or
supportive role in problem solving operations in the Shipping/Maritime Industry.
